Tattoo Removal FAQ's
How does the system work?
Tattoo remover is applied in a similar way to having a tattoo or semi permanent make up and using the same equipment. The tattoo extraction formula gets to work almost immediately, drawing the ink upwards through the skin.
A crust containing the tattoo ink will form over the treated area, over the following couple of weeks as the skin heals it will push out more of the unwanted ink out. The crust will start to fall away taking that unwanted ink with it. It is unlikely that some secondary crusting will occur, again containing more tattoo ink. The treated area must be kept dry after treatment and while the crust is on the skin (see aftercare section for more information)
The remaining tattoo ink will also be lightened and moved closer to the epidermis (the layer of skin that is naturally being constantly shed)
The e-raze system is so effective it is technically feasible, although unlikely, that a tattoo can be removed in a single treatment, however it is likely that entire parts of your tattoo may be removed in a single treatment.
Generally most tattoos can be removed in just three to four treatments, although some older tattoos may require more.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required can vary depending on the condition of the origional tattoo, age, type and history. As a general rule, tattoos should generally be gone or significantly faded after around 3 to 4 treatments. However as no two tattoos are the same and circumstances can vary it can take less or treatments to completely remove a tattoo.
After the initial treatment a tattoo can sometimes become darker and more vivid, this is quite normal and there are two reasons for this effect, during the removal pigment is not always fully ejected during the crusting process but will still be moved upwards towards the epidermis, which may then be shed by the skins natural re-growth process over a period of months. Also with older tattoos the body protects itself from the foreign matter by coating it in cells, over time this gives the tattoo a duller appearance. The treatment process can disturb this coating of cells, causing the origional ink to appear more prominent.
Will it hurt?
Prior to commencing your treatment we will apply a topical anaesthetic to numb the treatable area so minimum discomfort is caused.
Will it Scar?
Unllike Laser Tattoo Removal, the e-raze rejuvi system will not leave a permanent scar, due to the method used. The risk and probability of scarring becomes more likely if the After Care advice you are given is not followed, or most importantly, the crust is picked or knocked. As every person heals at varying rates, it is quite normal for some clients to notice a slightly red and raised appearance to the area treated for some weeks or months after treatment; the area will naturally heal itself ready for the next treatment. Please also be aware that factors such as lifestyle and smoking can have an effect on healing times, and in some cases slow the process down considerably.
How long will it take?
You should allow approx. 1 1/2 hours per treatment.
How long do i leave in between treatments?
Depending on the area treated, anywhere from 12 to 16 weeks between treatments, or in some cases slightly longer, depending on factors such as skin type and how long the body takes to heal itself.
