Post Oncology Treatment
Radiotherapy scars are sadly a daily reminder of the long and painful battle against breast cancer treatment.
Radiotherapy is commonly applied to the cancerous tumour because of its ability to control cell growth. Ionizing radiation works by damaging the DNA of exposed tissue, furthermore, it is believed that cancerous cells may be more susceptible to death by this process as may have turned of their DNA repair machinery during the process ofbecoming cancerous.
Side effects can vary from person to person but one of the long term effects is scarring.
After you have been free from treatment for approximately 8 to 12 weeks or the scar tissue has healed, we can treat and remove the radiotherapy scars you have with just 1 to 2 treatments.
