After Care & FAQ's
During the first two weeks after treatment, care should be taken not to expose the treated areas to strong UVA rays, chlorine, salts and saunas, as these will reduce the life of your treatment.
As an ongoing precaution we would recommend a total sun block on the treated areas when going on holiday and when using artificial tanning aids since the UVA will eventually bleach out the pigment.
A ‘top-up’ procedure is recommended as a colour booster. This will be discussed during your detailed consultation.
Is the procedure painful?
With carefully applied anaesthetic, semi-permanent make-up is a well tolerated procedure with minimal discomfort, similar to having your eyebrows plucked. A slight, prickly sensation. Also, the needles we use are so fine that trauma is kept to an absolute minimum and there is no bleeding.
Is there a risk of infection?
The strictest hygiene and sanitation procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times. We only use sterile, disposable needles, which are opened in front of each client, and are used for your complete safety.
What is the healing period like?
Each individual will vary, but typically on the second day after a procedure is performed, a light dryness will form which is only dry to the touch. During this time the pigmented area will look a little darker than your desired shade. However, after the dryness has passed, the colour will lighten.
There are three healing phases: Heal, Peel and Fade.
How long will the make up last?
Molecules from the pigment used will stay in the skin indefinately and the colour will remain visible for several years; this can be variable
dependant upon your colour choice, age , lifestyle and skin type.
It is recommended that you return every 18 months or so to have your Treatment enhanced.
Do I have a choice on colour and placement?
The client remains in control every step of the way with everything from colour choice to achieving the required shape and style.
What happens after the procedure?
Immediately afterwards the area may appear swollen, this is completely normal and nothing to worry about. The chosen colour will be very intense for the first two to three days, but within the first week you will lose 40 – 60% as the pigment
begins to settle into the skin. It can take between four and six weeks for the true colour to emerge and for the pigment to mature into the skin fully.
How long does the treatment take to do?
You should allow approx. 1 1/2 hours per treatment
